Bullet Journal Art
I’m new to bullet journalling. Where do I begin?
Start by learning the method from the creator himself, Ryder Carroll. The art is just the icing on the cake; what really matters is that bullet journalling is helping you be productive and organised.
What notebook do you recommend?
I started my bullet journal life with a LEUCHTTURM1917 A5, which I loved but the thin pages did have a degree of ghosting. It’s a great notebook for writing but not ideal if you wish to experiment with paint or other media.
Since then I’ve used Scribbles That Matter, Archer & Olive, and the Kintsugi ‘Shape Your Habits’ notebook. All three of these brands have comparable, high paper quality that stands up to most pens and paints. Archer & Olive probably have the widest range of colours and designs for the cover.
What art supplies do you use?
Some of my most frequently used pieces are: Tombow ABT dual brush colour pens, Pigma Micro fineliner, Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, Muji colouring pencils. All digital pieces were made with Procreate.
How did you make this?
I keep a YouTube playlist of videos where I film the process of setting up each month’s theme. You can follow the supplies I use, my creative process, how I correct mistakes as I go along, and generally expect a chilled-out time lapse.
